Week 15 NFL Power Rankings: Still No Clear Cut Favorite
New Batch of NFL Power Rankings
Welcome to Week 15 of the NFL Power Rankings! Week 14 brought some excitement on all levels! Each win means more by the week, and as we are coming into the final 3 weeks of the season, there is still no clear favorite in either conference.
It is wild how we have gotten here, but that’s the nature of the NFL Power Rankings, they are crazy as hell.
Now, before we dive into Week 15 make sure you check out last week!!
With that now out of the way, let’s see this week’s NFL Power Rankings!!
32. Jacksonville Jaguars- 2-11 (Last Week- 30)
The Urban Meyer experiment is a failure, and the Jaguars need to move on quickly after the season because it has gotten uglier by the day.
They will matchup against the Houston Texans on Sunday
31. Detroit Lions 1-11-1 (Last Week- 31)
Detroit was struck with the COVID bug and was down multiple offensive weapons. Now, would it have mattered, maybe not, but it still sucks for a team coming off their first win of the season.
They are now back in the losing column…
Up Next: a date with the Arizona Cardinals.
30. Houston Texans 2-11 (Last Week- 32)
Davis Mills did not look bad at all for Houston Sunday, throwing for over 300 yards. It is a bright spot in what should be a forgotten season for Houston. Davis could be playing himself into a starting role in 2022 and allowing the Texans to go a different direction with their draft pick.
They will go up against a struggling Jacksonville.
29. New York Jets-3-10 (Last Week- 29)
Same as last week, in the final three weeks not a lot will change at the bottom of the NFL Power Rankings.
28. Chicago Bears 4-9 (Last Week- 28)
Aaron Rodgers still owns the Bears… I will say this though, Justin Fields has come a long ways. The rookie played maybe his best game of the season on Sunday Night, and it can only go up from here.
They will face their rival Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football in Week 15.
27. New York Giants 4-9 (Last Week- 27)
Joe Judge will stick around another year, as reports came out over the weekend that the team will “most likely” keep him for his third season despite being 4-9.
That is not actually a bad thing, consistency is key, and if the team can get a competent QB, they could be on to somehting.
They will look to bounce back from a loss when they face the Cowboys on Sunday.
26. Carolina Panthers 5-8 (Last Week – 21)
Matt Rhule has a QB choice to make, and none of the choices are that good. The Panthers lose yet another game as they limp to the finish line for 2021.
They travel to Buffalo now to face a Bills team looking to turn it around.
25. Seattle Seahawks 5-8 (Last Week – 25)
Seahawks got a nice win over the Texans on Sunday, while Rashaad Penny came out of nowhere and had a breakout game. Now there is a slight glimmer of a playoff hope left for Seattle in a wide-open NFC race. A very very small glimmer.
They have a big matchup on Sunday against their division rival, LA Rams.
24. Pittsburgh Steelers 6-6-1 (Last Week – 24)
Oh, where do I begin, although the Steelers almost overcame a 29 point deficit, it fell flat on the final play of the game, a dropped pass, and an even better breakup by Harrison Smith.
They seem alive, but really they are dead. It does not help when one of your top receivers cannot even own up to his own mistakes.
It is a tough hill to climb from here, but they will look to do it Sunday against the Titans.
23. Las Vegas Raiders 6-7 (Last Week – 16)
Ya… I really got nothing for this one… The Raiders were absolutely dominated by the Chiefs and the team shot themselves in the foot multiple times.
They will look to bounce back Saturday against a short-handed Browns team
22. Atlanta Falcons 6-7 (Last Week- 26)
The Falcons are surprisingly still alive in the playoff race. A wide-open NFC Wild Card Race will do that.
The team got a big win, and a big jump in the NFL Power Rankings this week.
They will look to even their record on Sunday when they face the 49ers in California.
21. New Orleans Saints 6-7 (Last Week- 23)
Alvin Kamara has given this team the boost they need. Was it a pretty win? No, but a win is a win, and the Saints keep their playoff hopes alive because of it.
They have a tough task on Sunday night when they square off against the Buccaneers.
20. Denver Broncos 7-6 (Last Week – 22)
Denver looked good against a lowly Lions team. The win keeps them in the playoff hunt for another week.
They will host the Bengals in a big game on Sunday.
19. Philadelphia Eagles 6-7 (Last Week- 19)
— BYE WEEK– UP NEXT– VS. WASHINGTON–
18. Minnesota Vikings 6-7 (Last Week- 20)
Minnesota was very very close to a catastrophic loss to the Steelers last Thursday night, but they were able to hold off. If the first half Vikings show up more often, then they will be in good shape for this playoff push.
They will face the Bears on Monday Night.
17. Miami Dolphins 6-7 (Last Week – 17)
— BYE WEEK– UP NEXT– VS. JETS–
16. Washington Football Team 6-7 (Last Week – 14)
Despite a late comeback, the Washington offense just could not get it done on Sunday, falling to the Cowboys in a big game. The team is taking steps forward for sure, but when the rushing attack is not going well, the offense bogs down.
They will look to get back on track Sunday when they face the Eagles.
15. Cleveland Browns 7-6 (Last Week – 18)
Cleveland looked very good on Sunday against a tough Ravens team. Minus an almost mental collapse, the defense was able to hold off a Lamar Jackson-less team.
Now, the Browns have eight starters being placed on the COVID list. This happening ahead of a Saturday afternoon bout with the Raiders. They will be going in short-handed, so we will see how good they can be.
The win though gives them a nice boost in the NFL Power Rankings.
14. Cincinnati Bengals 7-6 (Last Week – 11)
The Bengals are a very fun team to watch, especially in Week 14 as they mounted a comeback, only to fall short in overtime. The team is oh so close to being in contention, hell, they are this year, but they need to be able to put together consistent wins for it to happen.
They will look to get back on the winning track when they face the Broncos on Sunday.
13. Tennessee Titans 9-4 (Last Week – 13)
The Titans got a win, on and off the field on Sunday, as they found out star running back, Derrick Henry could make a return for playoffs.
Now, they need to get locked into a playoff spot, and they will look to do so on Sunday when they face the Steelers.
12. Indianapolis Colts 7-6 (Last Week- 12)
— BYE WEEK– UP NEXT– VS. NEW ENGLAND–
11. San Francisco 49ers 7-6 (Last Week – 15)
San Fran inches closer to the top 10 in the NFL Power Rankings. They got a statement win in overtime on Sunday against the Bengals.
Jimmy G looked like a QB that can lead this team to something special. Now, the question is, can they keep it going?
We will find out Sunday when they face the Falcons.
10. Baltimore Ravens 8-5 (Last Week- 5)
Baltimore drops five spots in the NFL Power Rankings this week, Losing Lamar Jackson is never good, but luckily it was nothing serious.
The question is, how bad is the ankle? if it is still tender and sore, the Ravens become more one-dimensional going into a big stretch of games to tend the season.
They will host the Packers on Sunday.
9. Buffalo Bills 7-6 (Last Week – 7)
Buffalo is trailing downward at the wrong time. The team is now looking up at the Patriots who are leading the East by 2 games.
Luckily their schedule the rest of the way is a bit easier, but they cannot let their guard down, because their season is on the line at 7-6.
They will host the Panthers on Sunday.
8. Los Angeles Chargers 8-5 (Last Week – 8)
It was a fantastic win and performance for the Chargers as they downed the Giants on Sunday. Herbert looked as good as ever.
They will look to carry it over into Thursday Night for an AFC West showdown with the Chiefs.
7. Kansas City Chiefs 9-4 (Last Week – 10)
Chiefs are quickly on the rise in the NFL Power Rankings as they are appearing to be finally getting things together at the right time.
They have a crucial matchup on Thursday when they face the Chargers on Thursday Night Football.
6. Los Angeles Rams 9-4 (Last Week – 9)
The Rams’ hopes of a run at the NFC West are still alive as they took down division foe, Arizona on Monday Night.
It came with a consequence too, as they had had now placed up to 8 players on the COVID list including OBJ.
We will see if they can carry over some momentum on Sunday when they face the Seahawks.
5. Dallas Cowboys 9-4 (Last Week – 6)
The Cowboys defense is an absolute wagon, and Michah Parsons is in the driver seat. The rookie has been stellar this season as the Cowboys took home a win and extended their lead in the NFC East over the Football Team.
They will look to keep it rolling on Sunday against the New York Giants.
4. New England Patriots 9-4 (Last Week- 3)
— BYE WEEK– UP NEXT– AT INDY–
3. Arizona Cardinals 10-3 (Last Week – 1)
Cardinals showed some flaws, as they once again struggled to get a win at home. There were a lot of mental errors by the young QB and the head coach that needs to be addressed immediately if they want any chance at the first seed now that they have lost ground.
This is what has dropped them two spots in the NFL Power Rankings.
They can do just that on Sunday when they face a struggling Lions team on the road.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10-3 (Last Week – 4)
Tom Brady and the Bills are just automatic…. the Veteran QB took down old rival Buffalo on Sunday to move to 10-3 on the season.
They now move onto Sunday Night Football when they face the Saints.
1. Green Bay Packers 10-3 (Last Week – 2)
And the new number 1 team in the NFL Power Rankings, the sore toed Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers. Now tied for first in the NFC thanks to the Cardinals’ loss, the Packers will look to gain more ground on Sunday when they face the Ravens.
Wrapping up the Week 15 NFL Power Rankings
The NFL as a whole is still a wide-open race, and as we come down the home stretch wins are gonna be more crucial than ever.
It will make for a fun stretch run for sure! So make sure to keep it here every Wednesday for updated NFL Power Rankings!
