Watch This Video of Hideo Itami’s final moments in WWE

Last week, I wrote on how a number of superstars have been taking an interest in stepping outside the WWE, with Hideo Itami being one of those.

A few hours ago, a new Vimeo account with the name “205Life” uploaded a video (posted below) of the renowned Japanese superstar talking about his home of Tokyo, Japan.

While not explicitly saying it, he clearly misses his home so much, as he reminisces about Japanese food and stating he almost shed tears when he ate sushi the last time he was in Japan.

Hideo Itami was an unfortunate case of never being in the right place at the right time. Every time he had an opportunity for a big push, he was either eclipsed by a new superstar in line for a bigger push or was sidelined due to injuries. He talks about when he had surgery in the states and was so scared since nobody spoke Japanese when he went under for his shoulder operation.

Seeing him hug his fellow Japanese talent, Shinsuke Nakamura and Asuka tugged on my heartstrings. Especially when Shinsuke steps back and wiped the tears off of his face.

While I was very sad to see him go, I obviously want him to be happy, and if there isn’t room for him to flourish as the big deal he was meant to be, then he should go back to Japan, as KENTA. Wherever he ends up, he’ll be recognized as a top dog.
