I don’t care where you stand on the Colin Kaepernick debate, this commercial kicks ass.
As many of you should know by now, Nike recently brought on Colin Kaepernick to lead their newest ad campaign. The slogan, “Believe in Something, Even if it Means Sacrificing Everything” resonates deeply with Kaep, who unwillingly gave up his chances of making an NFL roster to peacefully protest gun violence in the United States by kneeling during the National Anthem.
Much like his kneeling, this move by Nike has made a lot of (stupid) people very upset. We suddenly have morons across the entire country destroying their Nike apparel to prove a point. That point being that they disagree with Nike’s move to bring on such a (in their eyes) controversial public figure. In reality, Colin Kaepernick has done nothing wrong. All Kaep set out to do when he took that first knee was bring attention to a very important issue in our country. What can someone possibly hate about that?
I’ve supported Colin Kaepernick since day one, and I’ll continue to support both him and Nike for putting this campaign together. Also, if you’re reading this and disagree with me, I’ll gladly take any unwanted Nike apparel off your hands. No need to waste it, right?
