That is right, you read the title correctly. Just outside of PyeongChang, eight robots are competing against each other in an alpine slalom course. These are humanoid robots, meaning that there are humans assisting them through the snowy trails.

I think this is a genius idea, and could be a popular event in the future. Imagine turning on your TV and watching robots ski down mountains at 100mph? The technology is not there yet, but give it five more years and this could be a real possibility. Rooting for your countries own robot/robotic team would be a nice change to the same old Winter Olympics. Maybe have some of the humans starter competing against the robots.
