The Red Sox Took Home Some Hardware Yesterday
We all know that the Red Sox season has been a little…underwhelming this season so far. The World Series hangover looks to be very real indeed as the Red Sox are barely above .500. But it isn’t all negative as the Red Sox had a few players take home some hardware yesterday.

Rafael Devers has turned into a hitter that has consistently produced for the Red Sox. His great month of May showed as he was named American League Player of the Month. The numbers speak for themselves as listed above, a .351 average along with 16 extra base hits, 8 of them being homeruns, and 24 RBI’s. Devers is helping carry the offense while other Red Sox hitters have cooled off so far in the 2019 season. But, he wasn’t the only Red Sox player to win an award in the month of May.
Michael Chavis Was Named American League Rookie of the Month
Michael Chavis has been named the American League Rookie of The Month of May!

This just seemed like a foregone conclusion! Chavis was tearing it up throughout the whole month of May. Although his average wasn’t exactly the highest, (.248), he made up for it with 7 homeruns, a double, and 19 RBI’s. Michael Chavis came to the Red Sox at the exact right time when they needed a spark. Now, he is proving that he belongs with the Red Sox full time. The numbers don’t lie and the production on the field speaks for itself.
In Conclusion
It was nice for Devers and Chavis to receive their respective awards for their hard work in the month of May. The season still has a ways to go and these two guys need to continue to produce at the plate. Individual awards are nice, don’t get me wrong. But, something tells me that Devers and Chavis would trade their individual awards for a potential 2019 World Series title. Let the summer months of baseball commence!
