The Rafters Pod Ep. 87: All-In Or Blow It Up?

The Rafters crew hops on to talk about a crucial part of the 2021-2022 season. On a win streak and heating up, Celtics management has to decide if they want to go all-in or blow it up and reload this off-season. The trade deadline is less than a week away and per-usual, Boston trade rumors are swirling.

Will we see another deadline go by without any moves made? If that’s the case, management will have decided to blow it up and start fresh next year with a new squad looking to compete. What makes this a tough decision is the recent win streak. Boston has won 5 of its last 6 games at the time of recording. Brown and Tatum are both averaging great numbers over that stretch playing off of each other better than we’ve seen. If they think this season is salvageable and a strong playoff push is on the horizon, its time to go all-in.

The Eastern Conference has been a tight race with the Celtics sitting five and a half games out of the first seed. Injuries to top teams like the Nets and Bulls have given life to teams like Boston who looked doomed for a play-in spot at best mid-season.
