The Rafters Pod Ep. 83: Best Coaching Victory Yet Vs. Bucks

The Rafters Podcast is back bringing you hard coverage the best coaching victory yet vs. the Milwaukee Bucks. Coach Ime Udoka showed vast improvement having Jaylen Brown back in the lineup. The first year coach has had an up-and-down season so far when it comes to his performance. Justin and Liam have been critical of Udoka when it comes to his decisions on in-game situations and player minutes. After a west coast trip that saw the Green and White go 1-4 on the road, a team meeting was called. Reportedly, Udoka laid into his team pointing out the flaws in recent games and demanding a better performance all around. Both players and staff have struggled in moments this season, but is this the turnaround point? Liam asks the important question of “Is this sustainable?” Can Boston built momentum from a 117-103 win against one of the top contenders in the league? Such an emphatic win, despite players like Smart and Schroder struggling to put up points is a hopeful sign for the team. A repeated coaching victory is needed.

Jayson Tatum has turned his play around, getting back to his superstar ways in Browns absence. With his co-star out the last double couple weeks, the team looked to Tatum to carry. A role he’s familiar with after last season. Going forward, he’s likely to get less looks on offense. Can he thrive in this offense moving the ball around? Your hosts are convinced Tatum cares a lot about individual stats. He wants to win but he wants thirty to thirty-six points while doing it.

Now with a full lineup, the Celtics look towards a tough five game stretch between now and Christmas. Four of the five opponents coming against Eastern Conference teams, this slate of games will be key.
