Emergency Episode!

The Cast

Liam and Justin get together on Saturday afternoon to highlight the Hall of Fame career of Celtics play-by-play commentator Mike Gorman. Gorman will be immortalized in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame with the class of 2021 that includes Paul Pierce, Bill Russell, and Ray Allen.

The Content?

Gorman is entering his 40th year as being the Boston Celtics broadcaster. Along side former Celtics star Tommy Heinsohn, the two Boston legends would go on to create the longest tenured sports broadcasting tandem in professional sports. Starting in 1981 all the way until last November when Tommy passed away.

Liam and Justin get into their favorite moments that Mike has brought to them and just the memorable and iconic moments that Mike has brought to all of us over the last four decades. We can’t tell you all he’s done in Boston, without telling you where he got his start in the broadcasting world!

Gorman is a real life story of someone who was constantly in the right place at the right time. He took his opportunities and ran with them, all the way to the Naismith Hall of Fame.

Being a play-by-play or broadcaster for a team can be a thankless job for many but Mike Gorman won’t go down as one of those guys. He deserves to be honored as a Hall of Famer and should be looked at as one of the Celtics greats, just like Bill Russell, Larry Bird, and Paul Pierce.

We Celtics fans have been spoiled having the honor of listening to Mike Gorman call Celtics games over the last 40 years. With such a long and dedicated tenure, he’s a true legend and deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame! Congrats Mike Gorman on your well deserved Hall of Fame induction!
