The Rafters Pod Ep. 111: Celtics are the NBA’s best team

The Boston Celtics are the NBA’s best team with a record of 25-6 after the holiday stretch. On Christmas, Boston staved off a Lakers comeback to win 126-115 showing off exemplary team basketball with six players in double-figures and three players with 7+ assists. Kristaps Porzingis saw to it personally Lebron’s Christmas would be ruined when he took over in the third quarter with a full offensive arsenal. The Latvian big finished the holiday showdown with a team high 28 points and 11 rebounds. The second seasonal match-up came in the form of a 134-101 beat down of San Antonio.

The hype around this Boston Celtics team has reached a fever pitch on The Rafters Podcast. Liam gets on air with championship aspirations and a “sky is the limit” attitude for the records they could break in the next 48 games and beyond. Over this season, Boston has lost key figures in Jayson Tatum, Kristaps Porzingis, and Derrick White in different capacities for different reasons. Yet their excellent play remains night in and night out.

A recent game against Toronto gave us a game without Jayson Tatum, only for the night to be saved by the $300 million man. Jaylen Brown returning from his own absence showed up and showed out. Leading the team to a slippery 120-118 victory. On an average night, The Boston Celtics have five All-Stars taking the court first and they play like it.
