What. The. Fuck.
DeMarcus Cousins is a Golden State Warrior. Huh? It just doesn’t even sound right. How did we let this happen? This is legitimately the best starting lineup in NBA history now and it’s not even close. Cousins may be coming off a torn Achilles, but this is still unfair. Golden State should go undefeated when this man is finally suited up for them.
As much as I hate to admit it, you can’t blame him for making this move. This isn’t like what Durant did at all. DeMarcus Cousins was trapped in the NBA black hole that is Sacramento for the majority of his career. Last year, he didn’t even get to play in the post-season. If you were him, you’d probably go to Golden State too. And next Summer, after he does get his ring, he can go elsewhere and sign a max contract. It’s a win-win for both sides.
I don’t really think I need to break this move down for Golden State. The Warriors, who were already a super-team, just added the best center in the league for pennies on the dollar. They have five all-stars in their starting lineup alone and a Finals MVP coming off of the bench. You do the math.
For the Pelicans, this reaaaaaaaaally sucks. Sure, they signed Julius Randle today, but is that going to be enough to keep Anthony Davis happy? With LeBron heading out West yesterday plus the loss of his All-Star teammate, AD’s chances in New Orleans aren’t looking very good for the future. Maybe Danny Ainge has a chance at getting his guy after all.
OH, and by the way, this news broke right after I initially posted this blog:
ESPN Sources: DeMarcus Cousins had narrowed his choices down to Golden State and Boston.

So yeah, that’s just great.
