I’m frankly sick and tired of this Patriots off-season already. The sad part? It’s barely even started! I mean, right now we’re dealing with potentially losing Tom Brady. NOW…we have to deal with the thought of a TOTAL REBUILD?!
The word on these NFL streets is that the Patriots are preparing for a full fledged rebuild.

Give me a break here! There’s a few reasons why this is ridiculous.
The Head Coach: Bill Belichick
Do we remember who the head coach is for the Patriots? It’s Bill Belichick. Did we forget who makes all of the football personnel decisions? Again, that would be Bill Belichick. Belichick is not going to want to start a whole new rebuild in 2020. He had to do that nearly two decades ago. The man has a reputation as being one of the best head coaches in NFL history. You’re telling me top talent that wants to win a title won’t want to play for that man? Please, save me with that nonsense.
They’re Being Aggressive
There are some rumblings involving the Patriots. Just the other day, we learned that they were talking with Baltimore about Hayden Hurst.

I know, I know, exploring doesn’t mean they’re going all in on Hurst. But you can see, they’re trying to make moves to put themselves in a better position in 2020. Plus, the Patriots know if they aren’t being aggressive in improving their weapons around Brady, he’s probably out the door. It’s crunch time for the Patriots and the aggressiveness is starting to show.
There’s Still A Lot Of Talent Under Contract
I’m aware that there are a lot of Patriot players that are currently free agents. But the ones that aren’t, they’re pretty important to this team. Julian Edelman is one name that you can think of right away. Stephon Gilmore is still under contract and was just recently named Defensive Player of the Year. Stephen Gostkowski will be back. J.C. Jackson, Dont’a Hightower, Sony Michel, James White are other names to consider. So there’s a decent nucleus to start with that isn’t going anywhere. You’re going to resign either Jamie Collins or Kyle Van Noy. This team is still a playoff team.
I’ve heard some crazy things about the Patriots before. This is up there as far as most crazy is concerned. The Patriots are going to do whatever it takes to try to get back to the Super Bowl. Tampa Bay for a 7th Super Bowl sounds pretty appealing to me. Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick know what to do with this team. Total rebuild?
