The Clover Report: Week Thirteen

What’s up guys, sorry that the Clover Report is a day late but I am still settling in from coming home. It will be back to normal next week with my regular article on Wednesday and my Clover Report on Thursday. With that out of the way, let’s recap the two games that happened this week. First off, the Celtics traveled to Brooklyn to take on the Nets. It was a defensive struggle overall but the Celtics pulled it out to win 87—85. Jayson Tatum was the standout player as the rookie made a ton of clutch plays and finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and an amazing 6 blocks. Kyrie Irving led the way with 21 points.

The other game of the week was in another country and I am not taking about Canada. The Celtics traveled all the way to London to take on the 76ers in the NBA Global Games event. Luckily for the Celtics, the 76ers were considered the home team so the C’s didn’t lose a home game. As for the game itself, despite being down early the Celtics won 114—103 in front of the London crowd. The Celtics had a very balanced attack as Jaylen Brown led the way with 21 points. Other standouts for the Celtics included Marcus Morris coming off the bench and scoring 19 points and grabbed 8 boards; while Al Horford finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists.

Everything is looking really good right now for Boston as they are riding a 7 game win streak and are up 3 games in the Eastern Conference. But another thing that is important for the Celtics is that they are finally getting some rest. They had 4 days off before the London game and now have another 4 after it. They’ll get a chance to recharge their batteries and get ready for the 2nd half. Life is good.
