The Clover Report: Week Fourteen
It was a short week for the Celtics as they only played one game in total. They hosted Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday. Before the game, Davis was asked about the possibility of being traded to Boston. He shut that down immediately as he said he was happy in New Orleans with DeMarcus Cousins. To me, the possibility of Anthony Davis coming to Boston have been always slim to none. He’s under contract and the Pelicans are winning. They’re in no situation where they have to trade him so sorry but it’s not going to happen. However, come back to me next year and let’s see if Davis’ mindset changes.
As for the game itself, it was a back and forth barn burner. After the game was sent into overtime, the Pelicans were able to hold of the Celtics and win 116—113. Anthony Davis went off as he finished with 45 points and 16 rebounds. As for the Celtics, Kyrie Irving led the way with 27 points in the loss. And that’s it; that was all of the games this week. Now that the Celtics are back from London, they will soon be back on a regular schedule. See you next week.
