The Cleveland Browns Should Trade For Odell
The rumors have been going crazy this week surrounding the New York Giants and primadonna receiver Odell Beckham Jr. The rumors were stating that the Giants were looking to trade Odell, but then John Mara came out and stated “He’s not on the block. Is that going to stop clubs from possibly calling us? No. But he’s not on the block. We’re not shopping him around.”
He then followed that statement by saying “Again, when you’re coming off a season when you’re 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn’t say that anyone is untouchable.”
That opens the door for any of the other 31 NFL teams to try and trade for Odell. Mara isn’t saying Odell isn’t available, but they aren’t actively shopping him around. This is where the Cleveland Browns come into play. They should absolutely try and trade for him. They have been going crazy this offseason so why not go all the way. They have Landry who is a former LSU teammate, and they also have Adam Henry who was the receivers coach for LSU and also the Giants the past few years.
The Giants are going to want a lot in return for Odell, which is understandable. When healthy Odell is easily a top 3 WR in the league. The Browns should give up their 4th pick in the draft along with their 33rd overall pick. The Giants would jump at this, getting another top 5 pick, and the 33rd pick, while not first round, is still valuable.
If this deal went through the Browns could have Odell, Landry, Gordon, and Coleman as threats in the air. That would be very dangerous, and with the first pick in the draft… Saquon Barkley. Don’t take a QB, take the Running Back who is a one of a kind generational talent. Tyrod Taylor is a good enough QB with this type of offense.
They will be tearing up defenses in the NFL with this offense, and not only make the playoffs, but win their division. Yes you heard it here first folks, they’ll win the division over the subpar Steelers. If you think otherwise #YouSilly
