You will be seeing the title of this article everywhere in the next week. Last night the Celtics went up 2-0 over the Cavaliers. Obviously, the Cavaliers are going back to Cleveland for the next two games, but this series is over. LeBron James put up a triple-double AND STILL LOSS. The Celtics are heading into Cleveland with all the confidence in the world. This team is so young and relentless, and everyone believes in them.
I went over this a little in my last post, but Horford is playing on another level. In previous years, Love and Thompson have owned Horford. This is not the case anymore. Last night when the Celtics needed to step on the throats of the Cavs, Horford came through. At one point in the fourth quarter, Horford did a turn around baseline drive on Love. The move was so beautiful and made Love look like a bum. His veteran presence and solid play have been the most crucial parts of this run.
What I love about this team, is that you never know who will step up. Every quarter of last nights game, a different player on the C’s stepped up. It does not matter who the Cavaliers try to double team or concentrate their defense on. The Celtics always have five guys on the court that can make a move and put the ball in the hoop.
Yeah, I may be getting way ahead of myself, but I am in love with the Celtics team. Does LeBron have a chance in this series? Sure he does, he is the best player in the world. However, he is going to have to put this Cavaliers team on his back and carry them up, Mount Everest.
