The Bandits Remain Undefeated

The Buffalo Bandits are 5-0 and are the only undefeated team in the National Lacrosse League as they defeated the New York Riptide in overtime 18-17. It was a thriller and there was a point where I thought Buffalo wasn’t going to be undefeated anymore. Despite remaining undefeated, this was the first time where the Bandits team faced adversity in the game. At one point, the Bandits were winning 14-10 in the fourth quarter. Even with a 4 goal lead, the Riptide were leading 17-14 with under 4 minutes remaining in the last quarter.

Even though they choked the lead, you know the Bandits weren’t going down without a fight. New York went on a 7-0 run but Buffalo fought their way back thanks to a 5 minute power play. Chase Fraser and Josh Byrne, scored the next two goals, giving Buffalo a chance. Byrne would score again with 21 seconds to tie the game up at 17 a piece. The Bandits would have one more chance to win the game in the dying seconds but couldn’t resulting in the game going to overtime.

The Bandits would get the victory thanks to Chris Cloutier and that’s how Buffalo completed the epic comeback. It looked bad but they got the job done. Buffalo is 5-0 for the first time since 2009 and they will look to go 6-0 as they host the Rochester Knighthawks this weekend. If you want to see how the game went down, you can watch it below.
