Team USA roster prediction for 2022 Winter Olympics

After missing out in the 2018 games, NHL players are set to return for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Fans and players were disappointed when they weren’t able to participate in 2018, but that makes this Olympics even more special. This could be the last time we see stars like Ovechkin, Crosby, Bergeron, and Kane. Team USA hasn’t won gold since 1980 or also know as the “Miracle on Ice” vs the Soviet Union. Canada has dominated and has nine gold medals to show, while other countries have two or less like Team USA. Unlike the past, I think the tournament is less top heavy like it was in the past. Can Team USA take home the gold? They may not be the favorite, but they most certainly can with a good roster.

Auston Matthews– Center, Age 24

Patrick Kane– Left/Right Wing, Age 32

Johny Gaudreau–  Left/Right Wing, Age 28

With Jack Eichel being injured at the moment, don’t know about the status for the olympics, so I’m leaving him off for now. If he is healthy, he will 100% be on the roster.

Charlie McAvoy– Age 23

Quinn Hughes– Age 22

John Carlson– Age 31

Jacob Slavin– Age 27

Torey Krug– Age 30

I think this will be hard to judge, but this is what I think it will end up being. Some people may have Jacob Trouba, Jeff Petry and possibly even Brett Pesce.

Goalies

Connor Hellebuyck– Age 28

John Gibson– Age 28

Thatcher Demko– Age 25

This a deep group. Hellebuyck is the guy and you could pick who you want to the second goalie, but I think Gibson will get the nod.
