Tampa Bay Buccaneers At Rams Preview – Fantasy Football

Week 3 of the NFL Schedule is here and for fantasy football lovers, its time for a Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Rams preview ahead of the matchup this Sunday.

Who’s the must-start in this clash? Players to keep an eye on and players to avoid? Let’s find out, shall we?

Must Start: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Rob Gronkowski – TE

The last time these two teams met, the LA Rams defeated the Buccaneers by a score of 27-24. However, in that matchup, it was clear that while the long passing game was a difficult one to truly perform against a stacked LA Rams defense, the Tight-End game was a cheeky avenue to make a dent with. We’ve seen just how good Rob Gronkowski has been the past two weeks! For fantasy football league managers, if this guy is by any chances in your waiver wire, immediately grab him! Expect Gronkowski to have a night of about 7 targets, 5 receptions and 50+ yards. For most PPR formats, this is about 12-13 points easily.

Who to Start for The Rams?

Cooper Kupp – Wide Receiver.

Speaking of someone who has been huge for Fantasy Football league managers, here comes Cooper Kupp!

Kupp, who during the offseason was vocal about wanting to expand his role, has been doing so and showing capable to do so in the past couple games. Just last week, Kupp was an absolute monster and nightmare for an Indianapolis defense that struggled to contain him. Personally, I picture much of the same happening this week. Stafford already has an excellent relationship with Cooper, expect for Cooper to have the most targets in this matchup and easily a TD. Keep in mind, this year the Bucs defense has clearly demonstrated their struggles to cover the outside, this is where Cooper Kupp presents himself as a very lethal threat.

Sony Michel – RB LA Rams.

As we continue to dig deeper into this Buccaneers at Rams fantasy football preview, one player that I unfortunately think is a must-avoid is Sony Michel. Allow me to be very clear here, I think Sony will still be able to have a decent season this year. However, with Darrell Henderson taking the majority of the share in the backfield and going up against this stingy Bucs defense when it comes to the running game? Simply, I’m not sure Sony will be the answer and therefore my guy to avoid this week but to heavily consider for week 7 when the Rams meetup against Detroit.

Ronald Jones II – RB Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jones’ role ever since Leonard Fournette took over in week 10 for the Bucs last year, has basically disappeared. The once highly productive running back has essentially become the early-down change of pace type of guy for Tampa’s offense. While for the most part, Leonard does all the carrying and rushing for this team. With Gio Bernard also being in the mix, I am not entirely sure we will see much from Ro-Jo unless an injury happens. For this week, definitely bench him if you can.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Rams – Who To Keep an Eye on?

Van Jefferson – LA Rams WR.

While week 3 offers a tough matchup for the 25-year old wide receiver, this is a name worth monitoring on the waiver wire. Jefferson had a very solid week one fantasy football performance and will likely have more to come this year. Van Jefferson was involved in more snaps in week 2 and will likely be involved in more snaps as the season continues. However, if Cooper Kupp gets somewhat covered by the Bucs defense this week, Jefferson is a perfect target to throw to especially if you are looking to move the chains in the short passing game. Never mind the fact, his explosive speed could also cause problems if an opening available while going with the short passing game.
