Start ’em Sit ’em: Week 2 Quarterbacks

Start em:

1. Derek Carr– This one is pretty obvious seeing as if you have Carr, you’re probably starting him.  Just in case you thought about getting cheeky and sitting him, here is why you shouldn’t.  Carr looked great last week.  He wasn’t all over the stat sheet, but his throws were mostly on point, and he was playing against a Tennessee defense that isn’t exactly a push over.  This week he’s got the Jets who are… well… to put it nicely, not the best defense in the league.  I think Carr has a chance to top the scoreboards in fantasy for quarterbacks this week.

2. Philip Rivers– River’s looked pretty good last week towards the end of the game against a vaunted Denver defense, not to mention the game was played in Denver too.  This week he has an easier matchup against a Dolphins defense who gave up an average of 18 points last year.  Also I think Miami comes out of this game a but sluggish because they didn’t have a game last week.  Giving the Chargers at least early on in the game.

3. Tom Brady– Brady’s lackluster week 1 is definitely going to be an outlier.  I think he definitely bounces back this week against a Saints defense who gave up 346 yards and 3 touchdowns to Sam Bradford.  In what I think will be a very high scoring game, Brady is a must start in all fantasy leagues this week.

NFC Championship - San Francisco 49ers v Seattle Seahawks

4. Russell Wilson–  Much like Brady I think Wilson will bounce back in week 2.  He’s going up against the 49ers, in Seattle.  Also the Seahawks are going to have something to prove this week.  Look for Wilson to put up good numbers this week, I would definitely start him.

Sit em:

1. Jameis Winston– My reasoning for this one is much like the reasoning for starting Philip Rivers.  Winston and the Buccaneers are behind after not playing a game week 1.  Also the Bears defense did look pretty good last week.  They held Matt Ryan and the “ridiculous” Falcons in check for most of the game.  If i have Winston, he’s staying on my bench this week.

2. Ben Roethlisberger– Roethlisberger looked great last week *throwing to Antonio Brown*.  Out of the 263 yards he accrued last week, AB was responsible for 182 of them.  I think that if the Vikings defense can take Brown out of the game, Roethlisberger has a bad week.  Also worth noting the Vikings held Drew Brees pretty much in check all of week 1.  I’m not taking my chances on Big Ben this week.

3. Matthew Stafford– Stafford looked horrendous for the first half of his week 1 game.  Granted he did straighten up and comeback in both the game and in fantasy to have a great week.  I don’t think that it happens again this week.  The Giants defense is not something to mess with unless you’ve got a stud.  Stafford is staying on my bench this week, despite his strong week 1 performance.

4. Dak Prescott– I’ve never been big on Prescott and that isn’t changing this week.  Don’t get me wrong, I think he is a good quarterback, but in a fantasy aspect he isn’t worth the play this week.  Dallas travels to Denver, to face the aforementioned Denver defense that held Philip Rivers in check for most of the game last week.  Dallas and Prescott may get the W in Denver, but I don’t see them doing it on the back of their QB this week, he stays on my bench.
