Predicting The Eastern Conference All-Stars
We are about one fourth of the way through the NBA season so far. I think now would be a good time to predict who are going to be the Eastern Conference All-Stars for the 2020-2021 season. Five starters and seven reserves will be chosen this season, and with that being said here are my predictions for the Eastern Conference All-Stars.
Guard:
Trae Young
One of the starting guards for the Eastern Conference will be none other than Trae Young. Young is averaging 26.9 PPG to go along with 4.2 RPG and 9 APG. He has been a staple to this Atlanta team this season and is very well their most valuable player. The third year guard from Oklahoma was an all-star starter last year and will be one again this season as well. Atlanta is currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference and without Trae Young they wouldn’t be where they are right now.
Young is very talented and will more than likely be an Eastern Conference starter for the majority of his career if he were to stay with the Hawks. His numbers are all-star starters numbers and he will very well be one of the starters for the All-Star Game.
Guard:
Bradley Beal
Now this might be one that a lot of people disagree with, but the man is leading the league in scoring. I understand he plays on the worst team in the conference, but we have to give the man credit. Beal’s usage rate is through the roof at the moment. 37.6 % usage rate is a career high for Beal.
Bradley Beal is averaging 34.9 PPG to go along with 5.1 RPG and 4.7 APG as well. Those are very impressive stats and they need to put some respect on Beal’s name. People will argue that his numbers are up this year due to the fact that either him or Russell Westbrook is the one taking all the shots. His numbers are going to be like this for the entire season, but he is my second all-star starting guard in the Eastern Conference.
Forward:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
This is one of my locks of the Eastern Conference All-Stars. Giannis Antetokounmpo is a star in this league and he is a big time player for the Milwaukee Bucks. He is averaging 27.3 PPG to go along with 11.0 RPG and adds 5.7 APG as well. The Bucks are currently second in the Eastern Conference and Giannis has had a good season. He isn’t in the MVP talks due to the fact that there are players that have better numbers than him this year.
Giannis though still has solid numbers so far this year. With the way that the Bucks look, and the fact that Giannis’ numbers are solid. There is no doubt in my mind that the Greek Freak is an Eastern Conference All-Star starter.
Forward:
Kevin Durant (Team Captain)
Here is the team captain of the Eastern Conference. The man is back and he has been better than ever this season. Kevin Durant is back like he has never left and the Nets are very lucky that they have him this year. Durant currently is averaging 30.9 PPG to go along with 7.4 RPG as well as adding 5.6 APG. Brooklyn has a fantastic trio and Durant is the head of it.
He is the leading scorer and has taking the reigns as being the best player of the team. Even with Harden on the team, Durant still gets his numbers and they are even better with Harden on the floor. KD is my vote right now for MVP, but he is also my Eastern Conference Team Captain as well.
Center:
Joel Embiid
Embiid is having career numbers this season for the Sixers. He has a career high in points with 28.3 PPG to go along with 11.1 RPG as well. He has been a big time factor for the Sixers this year and he looks very healthy. When healthy this guy is the best center in the league hands down. He has skills that don’t fit a normal big and he is very versatile.
Philadelphia is currently first in the Eastern Conference and without Embiid this team would not be where they are right now. Joel Embiid is the starting center for the Eastern Conference and I have him as a top three candidate for MVP right now as well.
Reserves:
G: James Harden
Guard: Jaylen Brown
G: Kyrie Irving
Guard: Zach LaVine
Forward: Jayson Tatum
F/C: Domantas Sabonis
F/C: Nikola Vucevic
