Patriots win against the Jets again
Patriots got there first win of the season
EAST RUTHERFORD NJ- The New England Patriots got their first win of the 2023 season today against the New York Jets 15-10. Mac Jones was able to complete 15/29 for 201 yards and 1 TD. As for the running game, Ezekiel Elliot had 16 carries for 80 yards, and Rhamondre Stevenson ran 19 times for 59 yards. The team had 159 yards on the ground combined. The biggest play of the day came when Jones hit tight end Pharaoh Brown on a 58-yard touchdown. Brown led the team with 71 receiving yards on the day. It must have felt really good for the Patriots to get their first win in New Jersey.
The Jets’ offense struggled mightily with Zach Wilson under center. Wilson had the boo birds coming after him all game and he had a later drive late in the game which led them to score a TD. He also did get sacked in the end zone which caused a safety and that ultimately led to the end of the game. Wilson threw a Hail Mary but unfortunately it was unsuccessful right in the end zone. It’s a tough situation out there in New Jersey right now for the Jets as they struggle to find a win since Aaron Rodgers went down. They won Week 1 against Buffalo but have struggled since with two losses in a row.

What’s at stake for the Patriots
Patriots (1-2) looked ahead to the Dallas Cowboys which suffered their first loss of the season to the Arizona Cardinals earlier today. Elliot goes back to a familiar house where he spent his first seven seasons in a Cowboy uniform. So it’s going to be a tough week of preparation for New England heading back on the road to Dallas in a week. Again it would be a must-win for the Patriots to get back to .500 football. For the Cowboys, they want to continue their success winning at home.
The Patriots defense can withstand the Cowboys offense but they will need some guys back from injury. Starting cornerback Jonathan Jones hopefully can come back from his ankle injury and Jack Jones and Marcus Jones are still on injured reserve. Very thin at the cornerback position but hopefully guys can return sooner than later and help the defense out by being healthy.
Is there a chance for the Patriots to win in Dallas
There’s a very good chance that the Patriots can come back home with a win in Dallas this upcoming week. Maybe today’s win was a confidence booster for the team to motivate them to get back to their winning ways. If rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez continues to play well like he did on Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson today he will be able to contain anyone. His next task could be Cowboys wide receiver Ceedee Lamb which he can be capable of covering him and keeping his stats down.
Look for the Patriots to continue and work off the win today and have a great mindset heading into next week. If New England comes to be 2-2 after four weeks the 0-2 start won’t look so bad and the media and fans could think we are headed in the right direction. Just need to continue not to turn the ball over and gain a bit more traction on offense.
