Patriots v.s. Bengals Preview

The Patriots playing against the 1-12 Bengals is a game that should have absolutely no story behind it. Unfortunately, some clown with a camera had to change the narrative going into this week. Or maybe the Patriots just couldn’t help themselves. Regardless of what anyone’s opinion is on the camera situation, these two teams still have to take the field this Sunday, and someone is going to have to win this game.

This would be the perfect week for the offense to put itself together and gain some confidence toward the playoffs. They moved the ball better than in past weeks against the Chiefs, but just couldn’t quite seal the deal. Whether Harry scored or not, to not be able score on 3 tries from inside the 5 yard line is pathetic. Moving the ball is one thing, but they need to figure out a red zone offense. Maybe they should have used the physical presence of N’Keal Harry again. Maybe what this offense needs is more Brandon Bolden, he has been pretty successful in the red zone this season. It wouldn’t hurt them to maybe give Damien Harris a try at some point this season. It seems like Sony Michel has fizzled out, at least for this season. People have been complaining about the offensive line, but the lack of a capable run game has been absolutely no help. They need to start to establish something on the ground so Brady doesn’t look like a deer in headlights. I’m looking for a revenge game out of Rex Burkhead against his former team.

This might be a game that the defense scores more than the offense again. They need to get back into that groove and take advantage of an offense that makes a lot of mistakes. Joe Mixon has been on absolute fire lately, and slowing him down will be the key to the offense. Andy Dalton has had a revolving door at receiver this season, and hasn’t really had a true #1. Not to mention he was benched for a small stretch, and forcing him to throw the ball will fall right into the Patriots strength. The secondary has been very good all season, and they should be able to handle this Bengals receiving corp no problem.

The Pats always come out of accusations pissed off. 34-13 Pats.
