Patriots at Texans: Fantasy Football Preview

Welcome to week five of the NFL Schedule. With week five rolling in rather quickly, its time for a fantasy football preview on the Patriots at Texans game this coming Sunday.

What are some names that you should consider starting? Who you need to avoid, and who you should keep an eye out for? That, and a few more takes will be shared here.

Consider Starting Them This Week on Fantasy Football!

Jakobi Meyers – New England Patriots WR.

Weeks three and four were excellent for Jakobi Meyers. Throughout the past two weeks, he’s managed to be targeted 12 times and catch eight out of those 12 targets. In a matchup against Houston, where you can expect Mac Jones to throw the ball often, Meyers makes for a great option to start. It’s worth noting, that Meyers and Mac Jones have developed a very solid rapport making him easily the top target if not second when Jones throws the ball.

Brandin Cooks – Houston Texans WR.

Cooks has posted through four games 39 targets, 28 receptions. 369 yards, and 1 TD. All together, these average out for a 17.9 Point average in most PPR leagues. While Houston’s QB, Davis Mills can also target Danny Amendola, it is clear that Brandin Cooks has establish himself firmly as their WR1.With New England’s defense being good against young QB’s, Cooks will remain a problem though. Perhaps, a decent flex option for week five.

Avoid At All Costs!!!

Davis Mills – Houston Texans QB

I won’t sit here and make whacky jokes about Mills’ long neck or anything like that. For starters, the guy already dealt with a miserable week against the Bills last week. Now, week five doesn’t get any easier for the youngster. With this Patriots at Texans matchup, Mills will deal with a defense that has sacked 10 times in the past four games, Including Tampa Bay.

Keep an Eye Out For…

Kendrick Bourne – New England Patriots WR.

Alongside of Jakobi Meyers, Kendrick is quickly emerging as one of Mac Jones’ favorite targets. With Houston being considerably an easier matchup than Tampa Bay, this could be a hot week for Bourne to produce. His best game so far in this season was against the New Orleans Saints where he was targeted eight times and caught six of those targets. Within that same game, Bourne was able to score a TD and receive for 96 yards. Definitely one to monitor, especially as N’Keal Harry and Nelson Agholor have yet to emerge as WR2 options so far.

Final Thoughts…

Expect for this matchup to be one of the best performances we will see out of QB Mac Jones. The Alabama product was sensational in week four against Tom Brady and made a very strong case for his future. It also seems as him and Josh McDaniels are exploring additional options in the New England offensive playbook as last week showed New England relying on their tight-ends.

While on the subject, last week proved that when New England relies on them, they can certainly be a pain to deal with for any other defense!

Good luck this week fantasy football managers. As always, may the odds be ever in your favor.
