This morning, the Patriots traded a seventh round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for linebacker Marquis Flowers. Flowers was a sixth round selection out of Arizona in the 2014 draft.
Flowers was mainly a special teams player with the Bengals, so this is nothing more than a depth move for the Patriots. They have also seen some injuries to their linebacking core this off-season, with Shea McClellin and Geno Grissom recently going down.
He will be the second special teams player the Patriots have acquired from Cincinnati this year, following the addition of Rex Burkhead, who led the league in special teams tackles last season.
