NFL Honors Predictions

Tonight is the award show we’ve all been waiting for. That’s right it’s time for the NFL Honors once again. This is the one magical night where football stars are the past and present come together and celebrate one another… except for the Bengals and Rams players who are preparing for the Super Bowl. Will Aaron Rodgers win MVP again? Will T.J. Watt get snubbed of defensive player of the year again? Find out here in these NFL honors predictions!

Offensive Rookie of the Year: Ja’Marr Chase wide receiver Cincinnati Bengals

Ja'Marr Chase choice made Bengals 'more explosive': Zac Taylor

This should be unanimous. After a dreadful preseason Ja’Marr Chase took the league by storm and never looked back. Chase became Joe Burrow’s favorite target and is a big reason as to why the Bengals are in the Super Bowl. During the regular season Chase racked up 81 receptions, 1,455 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging 18 yards per reception. Ja’Marr Chase’s NFL career is only getting started and he’s already looking like a top ten receiver in the NFL.

Defensive Rookie of the Year: Micah Parsons linebacker Dallas Cowboys

Micah Parsons was special during his time at Penn State. He was special once again in his rookie season with the Dallas Cowboys. Parsons instantly became one of the leaders of the team and a leader of the defense. This season Parsons recorded 13 sacks, 64 solo tackles, 84 combined tackles, 30 quarterback hits and three forced fumbles. Safe to say Parson’s was busy on the field every play. His career is going to be fun to watch!

Offensive Player of the Year: Cooper Kupp wide receiver Los Angeles Rams

This award really should come down to two players, Cooper Kupp and Colts running back Johnathan Taylor. However, what gives Kupp the edge here is that he is the triple crown winner this year. What exactly does that mean? It means that Kupp lead the NFL in receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns. Kupp couldn’t be stopped. This season Kupp had 145 receptions for 1,947 receiving yards with an average of 13.4 yards per reception and 16 receiving touchdowns. Cooper Kupp is going to give the Bengals secondary a run for their money on Super Bowl Sunday.

Defensive Player of the Year: T.J. Watt outside linebacker Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers LB T.J. Watt fined $10,300 for taunting vs Ravens

T.J. Watt should have won it last year but the NFL loves to reward to bigger named stars instead of players who actually earned the award. Watt had yet another spectacular season in Pittsburgh and this time he will be awarded for it… hopefully. This season Watt made history as he tied the single season sack record at 22.5. As for the rest of his season Watt also had 48 solo tackles, 39 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and seven passes defended. If Watt isn’t named defensive player of the year tonight it will be more than just a highway robbery.

Coach of the Year: Zac Taylor Cincinnati Bengals

Year three has been an unbelievable journey for Zac Taylor. With the first two seasons being complete failures, year three was going to be the year where Taylor’s seat was going to be either hot or cold. It’s safe to say Taylor’s seat is going to stay cold. Taylor has the Bengals just four quarters away from a Super Bowl in just his third season with the team when there were very low expectations for the Bengals coming into the season. As long as Zac Taylor is at the helm with Joe Burrow, this Bengals team isn’t going anywhere. This could the beginning of a dominant run for the Bengals organization.

Comeback Player of the Year: Joe Burrow quarterback Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow tore his ACL halfway through his rookie season. There were questions if Burrow could be able to compete at a high level still because of how a serious injury like that can affect a young player. It’s safe to say that Burrow had other ideas. Joe Burrow has the city of Cincinnati buzzing for all the right reasons. This season Burrow threw for 4,611 yards with a 70.4 completion percentage. He also threw 34 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Expect to see a few more touchdowns on Super Bowl Sunday from Joe Burrow. Burrow’s career is only getting started too. Once Burrow hit’s his prime, lookout.

Most Valuable Player: Aaron Rodgers quarterback Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers set to play for the Packers in 2021, but his future remains a mystery | NFL News, Rankings and Statistics | PFF

Aaron Rodgers is going to be the MVP once again. While becoming the villain of the NFL, Rodgers put together a dominant season even though he did what he does best and disappeared in the postseason. This season Rodgers threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns and only four interceptions. In what could be his final season in Green Bay, Rodgers put together another unforgettable season both on and off the field.
