We all love some early predictions, right? Well look no further! I have some early NFL awards predictions for the upcoming season.
Most Valuable Player: Patrick Mahomes
My first NFL awards prediction is for NFL MVP. No surprise here that my prediction is Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. At age twenty five, we are only just beginning to see what Mahomes can be as an NFL quarterback. This offseason, the Chiefs addressed their offensive line, which as a result will help them put up better numbers and give Mahomes more weapons to work with. There’s nothing Patricks Mahomes can’t do on the football field. With all these offensive weapons like Travis Kelce, Tyrek Hill, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire I would not root against him in the Superbowl. I expect him to put up MVP worthy numbers all season and finish it out with the big win in Sofi.
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Ja’Marr Chase
Offensive Rookie of the Year will be Ja’marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals. When I think of Chase I think of the next superstar wide receiver in the NFL. Reuniting with his National Championship quarterback Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase is going to put up monster numbers. I see him putting up Justin Jefferson and Odell Beckham Jr. type numbers as they did their rookie seasons. Ja’Marr Chase is the full package: speed, toughness, athleticism, and a true play maker as well as a quarterback’s best friend.
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Jamin Davis
My prediction for Defensive Rookie of the Year is Jamin Davis of the Washington Football team. Davis is going to be an up and coming star linebacker in the NFL. When watching Davis play, you see his speed and strength excel in the linebacker position. Davis has the quickness to fill any gap and has the strength and agility to cover tight ends. When he got drafted to the Washington Football Team it created the perfect pairing. He is going to fit right in and be the next Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Defensive Player of the Year: TJ Watt
TJ Watt is my prediction for Defensive Player of the Year. From the linebacker position Watt is one simple thing, an animal. He is an animal with the numbers he put up last year which are: 43 solo tackles, 10 assisted tackles, and 15 Sacks. I fully believe that he is going to have at least 20 sacks this season and have an increase in tackles. He is going to continue to disrupt offenses and be a headache for offensive coaches.
Comeback Player of the Year: Saquan Barkley
Anyone who knows me knows Saquan Barkley from the Giants is my pick for Comeback Player of the Year. When healthy, Barkley is a top five NFL running back. I believe there are a lot of doubters that Barkely cant be the running back he once was again. If there’s one person I’m not betting against it is Barkley. Go on instagram and look up his rehab videos. He is going to put up big numbers leading the Giants back to the playoffs for the next Superbowl season.
Offensive Player of the Year: Travis Kelce
Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is my pick for Offensive Player of the Year. Coming in a 6’5’ and 260 pounds, Kelce is a nightmare from the tight end position. Kelce has the speed, athleticism, and hand eye coordination to wreak havoc on opposing defensive backs. Last season Travis Kelce had 105 receptions, 11 touchdowns, and 1,416 yards, with an average of 13.5 yards per catch. Those numbers are like numbers you would put up in a Madden video game. I truly believe Kelce’s numbers are going to get better next year and lead the Chiefs to yet another Superbowl run.
Coach of the Year: Joe Judge
My final NFL awards prediction is for Coach of the Year. No surprise that Joe Judge of the Giants is my pick for this one! Contrary to popular belief I think Joe Judge could actually win this award. In his first year with the New York Giants, we saw Judge establish a new culture which is going to lead to winning for the NY Giants. I believe Judge is going to surprise a lot of people in year two with some adjustments and new players. He has enough ammo with a pretty strong defensive nucleus to now make the necessary changes and send the Giants on a much awaited Super Bowl run.
