New York Making A Giant Mistake With Eli Manning

According to NFL Insider Ian Rappaport, the New York Giants plan on bringing back 37-year-old quarterback Eli Manning next season.

First off, let me start by saying the Giants are dumb.

Okay now that that is out of the way, let me explain why this rumor should send shivers up and down the spines of Giant fans.

Giant fans, and NFL fans for that matter, know that Eli Manning is passed his prime but the front office in New York still finds him to be a capable starting quarterback. Why? Well, I think the group upstairs is diving too deep into the numbers.

This may shock you but in 2018, Manning has the highest completion percentage of his career, and has only thrown 8 interceptions compared to 18 touchdowns. Not bad right? Wrong.

With the weapons surrounding him Eli Manning should be putting up god-like numbers. Odell Beckham Jr., Saquon Barkley, Evan Engram, Sterling Sheppard. That is a pretty talented group. Both Beckham and Barkley are discussed as being at the top of their position. So how are the Giants ranked 20th in total offense? You guessed it, it’s Eli Manning.

You can say that is unfair all you want but Manning has to shoulder the blame. It’s true that he doesn’t have the best offensive line in the world but neither does Deshaun Watson down in Houston. Somehow he still manages on the offensive side and he pretty much only has DeAndre Hopkins to throw to.

“The Texans have a good defense though!” Yes, that it is why they are 10-4. But that doesn’t explain to me how the Giants offense is that much worse than the Texans. It has to be Manning and if the Giants don’t figure that out soon they could end up at the bottom of the NFC East for the next 2-3 years, wasting the prime years of the young studs they have on offense.
