Matt Riddle vs Will Ospreay: An Instant Classic

2 weeks ago, Over The Top Wrestling based out of Ireland just hosted one of the best matches of the year at their big show: ScrapperMania IV, in Dublin National Stadium with two of the best performers in independent wrestling.

King of Bros: Matt Riddle squared off with the Aerial Assassin: Will Ospreay. This was the third match these two have had against each other, and it’s easily their best of the trilogy.

While scrolling through my Twitter feed this morning, I saw Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer tweet about how this match lived up to all of its hype, praising it highly. Even going as far to say “Dublin National Stadium is now on my bucket list of places I want to see a live show at.” I consider Meltzer to have a highly credible opinion. So I decided to check it out.

This match has everything to make it a contender for a 5* rating.

The hardest hitting action and drama. A rowdy crowd singing the 80’s classic “Gold” by Spandau Ballet. Standing ovations. Reversals out of nowhere. Physical strikes that hit so hard they echo throughout the arena. It just doesn’t stop. There’s never a reason to take your eyes off the screen.

There’s no real reason these guys are wrestling. No storylines to fulfill, no vendettas against each other. Just simply, “who will be the best between these two?” And that’s all it needs.

I could go on further, but OTT Wrestling was nice enough to upload it to their YouTube channel, completely free in its entirety. So please do yourself a favor and take 20 minutes of your day check this out below.
