LOVE TRUMPS HATE: JOE BIDEN FOR AMERICA WINS!
On a regular Saturday, my post would be an obvious #SoccerSaturday but today, that feeling is different.
There is no secret that this has been one of the toughest yet most stressful times for anyone in America and across the world. America’s 2020 election was a difficult one to process, especially with so much on the line and yet hate was the evil staying afloat at a time where it didn’t belong.
While this years’ election came differently, and faced the endless challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic. America chose their next president and the emotional feeling of it is indescribable.
46th President of the US – JOE BIDEN!
America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country.
The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.
I will keep the faith that you have placed in me. pic.twitter.com/moA9qhmjn8

It is with great honor that I hereby announce, with 290 electoral college votes, Joe Biden is the 46th President-Elect of The United States of America.
The Biden Presidency- What It means – PERSONALLY!
Personally, I am in a whirl of emotions right now. For those of you who say “Men don’t cry”, you’re full of $H!T!
I will make one thing very clear, I am an INDEPENDENT and will always be. I have never chosen party over country. America is defined in my heart and mind as the land where love and opportunity, inclusion and diversity as well as unity are all part of what makes this nation so powerful.
Four years ago, I wasn’t against giving the opportunity to President Trump to lead this nation. However, as the course of his presidency progressed, a massive divide took over this nation and therefore I found myself in a place where I couldn’t continue to support his presidency. The Trump presidency became something that didn’t define America. As these 4 years also went on, I personally dealt with the unfortunate hate that overdeveloped as a “normal” behavior.
I heard things like “you don’t belong here”, was denied growth opportunities because I wasn’t willing to allow who I am be torn apart to believe in something I didn’t. I heard things like “Latinos are only good to do the jobs we don’t want to do” I was looked at differently for being a proud Colombian-American.
For those things, I got behind Joe Biden’s legacy of unity and his “battle for the soul of this nation”.
I strongly believe this is the dawn of a new beginning for America. The healing for America begins! “We The People” “United We Stand” Those are words that have always been a part of America and now more than ever define America as the land where love and opportunity will always win.
What It Means: For Many!!
During the Trump presidency, things such as “I can’t breathe” and “Black Lives Matter” sadly became the worse days in America.
On CNN today, Van Jones put everything into context on what these results mean.
“You spend so much of your life energy just trying to hold it together. And this is a big deal. For us just to be able to get some peace.”

No matter how I phrase this, Van Jones spoke to the heart of many.
He portrayed exactly what many, including myself feel like as this news continue to make way all throughout this weekend. One of the strongest pictures I came across also put into context what America craves this country to be.
In Conclusion!
The last time the country has been this happy and full of hope, was in 2008 when President Obama became the first African-American president in the history of the US.
Joe Biden’s victory signals the beginning of a new era. An era where unity, love, inclusion and diversity have a place in what makes America so powerful. The Biden presidency also signals an opportunity for the country to truly manage the COVID-19 pandemic and move from this incredibly dark time in our history.
For young people around the country, it signals the ideals of a future full of hope. However, this victory is also one for women in America to know that the future for women is bright!
Congratulations to President-elect Joe Biden and Vice-President elect, Kamala Harris on this amazing victory. May God bless America, and May God bless us all in moving forward TOGETHER!
