Look Ahead: Serie A Matchday 16 & 17

We are fifteen Matchdays through in Serie A, and we have two interesting ones that are happening this week. Tomorrow is matchday 16 and from Saturday to Monday Matchday 17 will take place. We have some interesting matchups that will help potentially shake up the landscape of the Serie A as we speak. With that being said here are the interesting games to watch out for in Matchday 16 and 17.

Matchday 16

AC Milan vs Juventus (1/6) (2:45 PM EST) 

This is a very interesting matchup that we are getting tomorrow between the number one team in Serie A in AC Milan going up against the number five team currently in Serie A in Juventus. AC Milan has an 11-4-0 record and has yet to be defeated in Serie A play. They have dominated in their first fifteen games of Serie A play while out scoring their opponents 34-16. Milan is led by their 21 year old goaltender Gianluigi Donnarumma who has started in 14 out of the team’s 15 games in Serie A. Donnarumma has a 11-3-0 record and has five clean sheets to show for it so far. AC Milan also has the 39 year old phenom Zlatan Ibrahimovic who has dominated in his six games that he has played in this season. Ibrahimovic has ten goals scored in his six games played and has an assist to go along with that. AC Milan has played like a team, and have shown game after game why they are number one in the table right now.

Juventus now on the other hand has not looked as dominant as they have in year’s past at this point. With a 7-6-1 record so far in the Serie A, Juventus needs this game more than ever tomorrow. They have won eight straight Serie A titles and if they don’t get the win tomorrow over AC Milan that streak is very much so in jeopardy. Cristano Ronaldo and company are going to come out guns blazing in this one as this is a must win for the boys in Turin.

Prediction: Juventus wins 2-1 (Ronaldo scores game winner in 87th minute)

Matchday 17

AS Roma vs Inter Milan

This is another fantastic matchup between two top three teams currently in the Serie A table. We have Roma taking on Inter Milan. Inter Milan is currently sitting in second place in the table with a 11-3-1 record, while Roma is in third place with a 9-3-3 record. Roma has three guys that have seven goals so far this season in (Mkhitaryan, Veretout, and Dzeko). Those three have been a big reason why Roma is where they are currently in the table. They are also 4-0-1 in their last five as well with their lone loss coming against Atalanta where they got blown out 4-1.

Now looking at Inter Milan, even though they had another horrible effort in the Champions League; they have looked phenomenal so far in Serie A. Inter Milan also leads the league in goal differential as they are +21 currently. This is a big part of the reason why they are one point out of first place currently. Their two headed monster up front in Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez is also a big portion of that as well, as both strikers have 9 or more goals so far this season. Inter Milan are also 9-2-0 in their last eleven games as well. This game is going to be one that you will not want to miss for sure.

Prediction: 1-1 Draw
