Lonzo Ditched his ZO2’s Last Night

Mr. Big Baller Brand himself Lonzo Ball ditched his signature ZO2’s last night for a pair of purple Kobe’s. He finished the game with 36 points, 11 assists, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals. It was by far his best game in the summer league so far. Obviously, he was asked about why he decided to rock a different shoe brand. Here’s what he had to say:

“Mamba Mentality” seems like a pretty solid reason to wear some Kobe’s, especially coming from the potential franchise player of the Lakers. We all know LaVar had something to say as well. “Lonzo is not forced to wear any brand and can play in any shoe he wants as long as its OK with the NBA” is what Ball told ESPN. This is one of the more toned down responses LaVar has given us since his son entered the spotlight. He also said that there are currently no negotiations between Nike and Lonzo. Could a deal be on the way? We’ll have to stay tuned. But for now, I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw Lonzo rock other brands outside of his Big Baller Brand this season.
