Lock, Fade And Stay Away (8/10/20)

If you want the rest of my locks for today, and all of Fiesta’s locks make sure to go follow us on twitter (@thechasers617).

Toronto Raptors +7

The Toronto Raptors have only lost once since being in the bubble, and are 4-1 against the spread as well. With tonight’s game against Milwaukee who has had their number in their two matchups this season so far, I think the Raptors are going to show the Bucks how tough that they are. The big matchup that every one wants to see is Pascal Siakam going up against Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Those two always put on a show, and tonight should be no different. One big stat that is part of my reason for taking the Raptors at +7 as a lock, is the fact that Milwaukee is 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games. Lock in the Raptors tonight at +7 as the game could go either way, but the final score will be by a possession or two.

Chicago White Sox -150

The Chicago White Sox suffered a devastating extra inning loss last night to the Cleveland Indians. Tonight they play the Detroit Tigers who have won three straight, while Chicago has lost four out of their last five. For the pitching matchup for this evening’s game the White Sox have Dallas Keuchel going up against Michael Fulmer. Keuchel has looked good in his three starts so far this season, while Fulmer has looked shaky at times.

Tonight is the night that the White Sox’s offense picks back up to start a spark in their quest for a playoff spot for the first time since 2008. Lock in the Whitesox moneyline as I see them coming out the gates firing tonight.

Los Angeles Lakers -5

The Los Angeles Lakers since entering the bubble had one mission to accomplish and that was locking in the number one seed. They did that, and haven’t gotten a win or even covered a spread since. LeBron did rest a game so you have to take that into consideration. They looked meh at best against the Thunder and the Rockets. Then Saturday against the Pacers they looked like they were back into form, but still managed to lose 116-111 to the Pacers.

With question marks if both LeBron and/or Anthony Davis is playing it is hard to pick the Lakers until the post season starts. Fade the Lakers tonight as the Nuggets are fighting to lock in the third seed, and still have a chance at the two seed as well.

Stay Away:

Under 8.5 (San Diego Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers)

So in their first three meetings this season, the over total for tonight would have hit two out of three times. Both offenses are playing at a high level, and will cause a problem for the opposing team’s starting pitcher. Tonight’s pitching matchup is Garrett Richards for the Padres going up against Dustin May for the Dodgers. Both teams average over 5 runs per game, Their both tied for first in runs scored per game (5.4), and both offenses will light up the scoreboard tonight and stay far far away from the under in this one.
