Lock:
Minnesota Vikings -3.5 (2.2u/2u)
The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a big win against the Green Bay Packers last week. Dalvin Cook was the most important player on that football field last week, and boy did he show why. Cook had 30 carries for 163 rushing yards and added three rushing touchdowns. He also had two catches for 63 receiving yards and added a receiving touchdown as well. Having over 200 total yards and four touchdowns is a big performance. The last time these two teams faced off last season Cook wasn’t a big time factor, but Kirk Cousins also had some real confidence last year. This year not so much confidence oozing from Cousins.
Detroit’s defense isn’t great, and they are coming off a terrible loss last week against the Colts. I expect another big day from Dalvin Cook, and the Vikings to easily cover the spread here. Minnesota is 5-0 against the spread in their last five against the Lions, and the trend will continue today. Lock in the Vikings -3.5 today, as I am risking 2.2 units to make 2 units in this one.
Fade:
Tennessee Titans -6.5
The Tennessee Titans have struggled as a 7 point favorite or fewer to cover in their last six games. Being 1-5 against the spread as a seven point or fewer favorite is not a good sign. Meanwhile the Bears as a seven point underdog or lower are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games. This game is also being played in Tennessee where the Titans are 2-4 against the spread in their last six home games as well.
Here is the thing I don’t see the Bears winning this game today. I think Tennessee is going to squeeze out this victory today, but it is going to be a hard fought victory. The Bears defense is very good and will give Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill, and company a hard time today. So if you are thinking about betting the Titans and giving six and a half points, please listen to me when I say this. DO NOT BET ON THE TITANS TODAY. Fade the Titans -6.5 as the Bears are going to make this game a close one.
Stay Away:
Under 50.5 (New Orleans Saints vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
This is a rematch of a much anticipated week one matchup between these two. Brady and the Buccaneers have looked like a completely different team since week one, and the Saints should be worried. Tampa Bay should also have Chris Godwin back which is a big help, and it is game one of the Antonio Brown experience in Tampa as well. Also the Saints are getting back Michael Thomas for the first time since week one when they played Tampa Bay. I expect a lot of points to be put up tonight, and this is an easy over to cash. Stay far far away from the under in this one, as we will see a bunch of points on the board tonight.
