I Hope the Mae Young Classic is Just the Beginning for KAITLYN

It was recently announced that Kaitlyn will be returning to WWE in this year’s Mae Young Classic, to widespread surprise. Like most of her era’s women’s roster, Kaitlyn has largely been left out of speculation on returns. Considering she runs a business, this makes sense. But one half of the best WWE women’s matches of the early 2010s coming back is great news.

Of course, it’s only for one tournament, but a man can dream. Her most-remembered moment is folding AJ Lee in half with a spear, but I’m interested in seeing what she can do with a deeper roster. She could be Smackdown’s power player, since Tamina is injured (and… not very good.)

Most of all, Kaitlyn was a casualty of her time. It can be hard to judge was this a great wreslter, or was pretty much everyone else just bad? Given that the MYC is consistently jam-packed with some of the best wrestlers in the world, it’s the perfect venue to see the results. I can see Kaitlyn having some really good matches, especially if she gets to fold Io Shirai in half or have a hoss fight with Jazzy Gabert.

If the MYC goes well, I’d really, really love to see Kaitlyn back in WWE, though with her other projects it’s probably a pipe dream. But having her as a monster for the likes of Becky, Sasha, and Bayley to try to conquer would be a pretty nice addition to the roster.

One step at a time.

But man, Kaitlyn was good.
