According to the NFL Network, the NFL has suspended one of the new hot names in the NFL, Juju Smith-Schuster for basically trying to morph bodies with Vontaze Burfict by smashing bodies at full speed. The hit was an annihilation and it caused Vontaze Burfict to be carted off of the field.
Here’s the hit.

Now let’s compare this to the Rob Gronkowski one game suspension. Should Gronk have been suspended? Absolutely. I think so at least. The 270 pound monster dropped a full blown People’s Elbow on an opponent who didn’t even know he stepped into the wrestling ring and concussed him.
Smith-Schuster, Jesus, let’s call him SS going forward. I’m not typing that out for the rest of this blog.
SS, he lit Burfict up with a blindside hit. Well kind of. Burfict was rolling to his left and SS delivered a major block. The problem is that it was a helmet to helmet injury and it was clearly a target.
Let’s be honest. He should be suspended for the hit. The NFL as a whole is trying to rip head injuries from the sport and when there are players intentionally trying to negate their attempt, well then suspend and fine their ass, just like Gronk.
Personally I hope this means the NFL is going to be consistent now with suspensions. My God, someone tell me how AJ Green didn’t get suspended for choking out Jalen Ramsey? Intentionally going after someone’s head calls for an immediate suspension. The WWE is creating such a major influence on the NFL that the players are mimicking the wrestlers. This is the real problem! The WWE!
One last note… Because it’s Burfict, I just don’t care. I really don’t. I don’t want anyone injured seriously in the NFL… But this guy had it coming at some point. He has taken so many cheap shots at opponents over the years that I just can’t make myself feel bad for him when he gets carted off of the field. Because you know and I know that he’s going to do it again. Again, before we freak out. I don’t want serious injury to happen to anyone in the NFL.
We do remember his head first shot at Antonio Brown, right? It’s simple. Straight up that could have ended Brown’s career with how malicious that was.
