Joe Kelly decided to be slightly different during yesterday’s 4-3 win for the Red Sox. Kelly, currently serving a six game suspension for his scuffle vs Tyler Austin, decided to watch the game from the bleacher. Yes, you read that right, the bleachers. Because he’s suspended, he can’t actually sit in the dugout. So naturally he started watching the game in the suite and nothing was working. He told Rob Bradford of WEEI “I was in the suite and we weren’t scoring any runs and we were losing so I moved out to the bleachers.”
Joe Kelly For MVP
Being the superstitious player that he is, he moved to several places in the park. When he got to the bleachers, the Sox starting scoring runs. After that he went to the Samuel Adams deck, and finished watching the game from the State Street Pavilion. After the game Kelly said that there isn’t a bad seat in Fenway Park. For the most part he’s right. He clearly hasn’t sit behind a pole before. Or sit in straight away center where the seats actually face Pesky’s Pole and not home plate.
