Jaguars Gardner Minshew Looks Like a Young Uncle Rico From Napoleon Dynamite

How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains? – Uncle Rico, Napoleon Dynamite

It’s no secret the the Jacksonville Jaguars are going to select Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence in a few weeks at the NFL Draft. As the league approaches the draft, there will be teams calling the Jaguars to check the availability of another quarterback on their roster. Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew’s name will come up as a possible trade candidate once they select Lawrence first overall.

The Jaguars invested a sixth-round pick in Minshew, however he has shown that he holds value within the league. Minshew could be a potential starter in the league and he would be a competent backup for any quarterback in the NFL. If the Jaguars elect to trade him, the could look to recoup anywhere between a third and fifth round pick.

Over the last couple of seasons, Minshew has been a popular figure within the league due to his charismatic personality and his mustache. His glorious mustache started in camp while he was in college, “I think it’s just kind of symbolic oh how we are as a team. Just free, loose, we’re gonna play hard as we can, and we’re gonna have fun doing it,” said Minshew in an ESPN special.

Gardner Minshew or Uncle Rico?

On Saturday, images of Minshew sporting a new mullet with an unbuttoned shirt surfaced on social media. As one of the commenters on the tweet below, Minshew looks like Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.
