It Is Time For The Sox To Pony Up….Again!
Over the last couple seasons the Red Sox have been linked to White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu; this year is no different. As the trade deadline approaches, the rumors start to fly! I love it! Will the Red Sox make a move? Who will be traded? Will the get a bullpen arm? All very good questions but I think there is another move that they should make. They need to make their lineup even stronger!
Yes I said it, they need another bat! The bottom of our order is embarrassing. It has gotten to the point where our 8 and 9 hitters are almost guaranteed outs. Come October that can and will hurt us! They need to address it and address it quickly.
To me its simple, give up JBJ. Bradley could not hit water if he fell out of a boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. He SUCKS! All you baseball nerds that say “Oh, but he is so good defensively, you can’t get rid of him!” Uh ya, but have you seen how many runs he has cost you offensively?
The last go around of trade talks for Abreu was JBJ as the main part heading to the south side of chicago, this time I think if you put JBJ with Michael Chavis and maybe a couple other double A guys you should be able to get the deal done.
This trade not only makes your lineup better but gives JD Martinez what he wants and that’s to play more games in the outfield. Abreu would take over the DH spot with a few days at first base when Mitchy two bags needs a day off. Now instead of your 8 and 9 hitters being automatic outs just your 9 hitter will be; as well as your lineup is now arguably better that the Yankees.
I love this idea and hope it happens. Will it? Well, that’s a different story. All I know is it NEEDS to happen. The Sox have a chance to make a deep playoff run THIS year and they need to capitalize on that. Lets go Dombrowski pick up the phone, start wheeling and dealing and let’s get the duck boats ready because once this move is done Fenway is going to be hosting another World Series celebration!
