In One of Julian Edelman’s First Interactions With Bill Belichick, He Found Him Chillin’ in the Nude

Julian Edelman has a YouTube page now and this is one of the first things I’ve seen from it. And boy, nothing gets the clicks going more than talking about Bill Belichick in the good ol’ nude.

There are a couple of things that you need to pull away from this.

The first thought that came to mind when Jules was breaking down seeing some full-frontal Bill. I thought being naked in those things was like, kind of protocol in pro sports? I mean, obviously I’m no professional athlete here but I just assumed these guys were naked whenever they had the chance. Granted, Bill Belichick naked seems like a whole other animal but still, Jules being THIS rattled by the situation confused me.

Also, I’m not gonna sit here like some Patriots honk and talk about how 90% of Patriots fans would be fine if naked Bill emerged from a hot tub. That guy has full reign over these six (?) states and it kind of just seems like most of the laws don’t apply to him. The guy can do whatever he wants. But like I said, I’m not going to be a Patriots honk here and say that. Not my style.

But if you’re Julian Edelman in this situation, a kid who is getting his shot in the NFL FROM the GOAT, what do you do?

Look, he handled it like any of us would. Freeze awkwardly, and don’t make a comment about it. He could have gotten weird and said something, but he held his ground like a good soldier.

I get the awkwardness stemming from this situation though. Any guy who’s ever stepped foot in a locker room at a gym knows the feeling. Especially in the morning before anyone’s at work, these old men–Bill’s generation–let it fly. There are no rules regarding clothes in these facilities. Once you’re in an area where it’s optional, these guys aren’t letting clothes or towels hold them back. It’s a workout to keep your eyes staring at the ceiling every morning but it’s a something we just have to fight through.

Julian Edelman saw the greatest coach of all-time in his birthday suit. Something a lot of men in New England would call an honor. I’m not one of those men, but there are plenty of Bill’s minions scattered around Massachusetts who wouldn’t flinch in a time like this.
