Antonio Brown wanted to play again in the NFL but under one condition. He wanted to play with Tom Brady and this Sunday he will get his wish. The Buccaneers will activate Brown for their matchup this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Brown is back baby and he will be on a mission to prove all the doubters and haters wrong. It’s unknown how much of an impact he will have against the Saints but the one thing we know is he shouldn’t be overlooked.

The Advocate

Brown played only one game for the Patriots last season. He played in a game against the Miami Dolphins where he had four receptions on eight targets for 56 yards and one touchdown.

Brown was released after one game following allegations of sexual assault and rape against him. Brown has been trying to get back into the league since his release. Teams have balked on signing the All-Pro due to the uncertainty of being placed on the Commissioner’s Exemption list.

Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady was a huge advocate for Brown despite Bruce Arians comments on the receiver. ‘Tom didn’t have anything to do with it. This was something Jason and I had been talking [about] for a couple weeks, ever since the injuries to our other guys”, said Arians.

Brady will have to put on his Paul Heyman impersonation and be the advocate for Brown.

There’s So Much to Lose

The ultimate question remains, will Brown be able to stay out of trouble in Tampa Bay? Arians can say this signing had nothing to do with Brady all he wants. This signing had everything to do with Brady but not even Brady can save Brown. If Brown is a malcontent in the locker room, the Buccaneers will cut bait very quickly with the former All-Pro receiver.

Brady is Driving the Pirate Ship

Arians and the Buccaneers are worried about the public perception and backlash if Brown fails. Arians is saying all the right things to make it appear he has all the control in Tampa Bay. Everyone knows Brady has been just as involved with the player personnel decisions as Arians.

Brady lobbied for Brown, he has been his biggest fan and cheerleader. Brown will look to make a grand entrance in his first game back. I would suspect Brady fires one to Brown in the end zone to put the entire league on alert.
