Gordon Hayward is out here making money moves babyyyyy.
Fleeing Nike for Anta is definitely a wild move, but I understand why he did it. Just by taking a look at Klay Thompson’s deal with them, one can only imagine the amount of money Hayward signed on for. I’m a huge Nike guy, but at the end of the day, money talks. If you’re going to pay me $50M over 4 years to wear some brand nobody has ever heard of, you know damn well I’m going with the money over anyone else. The best part about this for Hayward is that Nike has the opportunity to match. If they match, he’ll be getting the same, if not more than what Anta was offering. It just would be from Nike. Either way, GH is going to come out of this with a shit ton of extra money in his pocket, which you have to respect. It’s a very savvy business tactic, to say the least.
