Future Picks: Pac 12 Conference
This year I strongly believe that the PAC 12 is going to be back. They have a lot of talent in the conference this season, and I see multiple teams making the NCAA tournament this year. We have a four team race for the winner of the Pac 12 this season in my opinion, and I believe they have a chance to get six to seven teams in this year. The four teams that I think have a chance to win the Pac 12 title are (Arizona State, Stanford, Oregon and UCLA). Each team has a reason why I think they could win the Pac 12 title, but we’ll get into more of that in a little. Let us look at the odds for the Pac 12 title winner first.
Odds:
UCLA +260
Arizona State +265
Oregon +435
Stanford +600
Arizona +700
USC +1000
Colorado +1500
Utah +3000
Washington +3000
Oregon State +8000
California +10000
Washington State +30000
Winner:
Arizona State +265
The Sun Devils are in a prime position to win the PAC 12 this season and I’ll give you one name why. Remy Martin, the senior point guard is back in school for his senior year and is my pick to win the John R. Wooden Award this season. Bobby Hurley has a solid team for the 2020-2021 season that just might contend for a national title. They bring in two talented freshman in Josh Christopher (11th in ESPN’s Top 100) and Marcus Bagley (33rd in ESPN’s Top 100). Both of these guys have huge upside and can contribute a lot for this Sun Devils team.
The starting five for the Sun Devils should look as followed Remy Martin, Alonzo Verge Jr., and Josh Christopher starting in the backcourt. Then you add Taeshon Cherry and Jalen Graham to start in your front court. If their starting back court is as good as I think they are going to be they will be tough to stop night after night. Watch out for the Sun Devils because they are coming and they will be looking to do a first in school history and that is not only reach a Final Four, but try to win their first title in school history.
Best Value:
Stanford +600
The Stanford Cardinal are only losing one key player from last year’s team in Tyrell Terry, but they are also bringing in a top ten recruit to replace him in Ziaire Williams. The 6’8 guard/forward is looking to help bring the Stanford Cardinal back to relevancy when it comes to Pac 12 basketball. This team has some serious potential and could make some serious noise in the Pac 12.
The starting five for the Cardinal should look like Daejon Davis, Bryce Wills, and Ziarie Williams in the back court to go along with Spencer Jones and Oscar Da Silva in the front court. Stanford’s two keys to this season is how well does Da Silva and Williams play for them, and how will the bench be for them. If Stanford can get key contributions from their bench the Pac 12 should be put on notice. Stanford has a real shot at the Pac 12 title, and they are my best value team.
Predictions:
1.) Arizona State
2.) Oregon
3.) Stanford
4.) UCLA
5.) USC
6.) Arizona
7.) Colorado
8.) Washington
9.) Utah
10.) Oregon State
11.) Washington State
12.) California
College Basketball IS BACK SOON FOLKS….. TIME TO GET EXCITED!
