Five Fantasy Hockey Players To Pick Up This Week

Week one is officially in the books for fantasy hockey and now it is time to look ahead towards the rest of the season. It is time to start looking at your roster and finding some players on free agency that you can acquire to make your team better. With that being said here are the five fantasy hockey players that you should pick up heading into week number two.

Trevor Zegras (Anaheim Ducks) Forward

Trevor Zegras is a must add in my opinion in fantasy hockey. Zegras is a top six center for the Ducks right now and is on their first powerplay unit. He is going to be a guy that you should stash now so later in the year you like like a stud for picking him up so early. Zegras is going to be a focal point of this Anaheim offense not only this year, but for years to come. He is only 20 years old so there will be times where he will have his good moments and his bad.  Zegras is owned in 26.3 percent of leagues on ESPN. Do yourself the favor and go acquire this guy from free agency right now. He is going to be a solid asset for the Ducks this year.

Jesse Puljujarvi (Edmonton Oilers) Forward

Jesse P is what I call the Edmonton forward and boy has he looked good to start off the season. Currently he is playing on the first line with McDavid and Leon Draisaitl which is an automatic must add in all fantasy leagues. He is currently owned in only 53 percent on ESPN. The percentage of leagues rostering him has increased due to the playing time of him playing with McDavid and Draisaitl. He is also on the second powerplay unit as well which boosts his chances of getting even more points this year. Jesse P has two goals and two assists in two games this season. If he is available make sure that you add him in all of your leagues because the 23 year old winger is going to have his breakout season this year.

Bowen Byram (Colorado Avalanche) Defenseman

Bowen Byram is a young talented defenseman that should be on your roster right now. He is currently only owned in 19.8 percent of leagues on ESPN. Byram is a top four defenseman which huge upside this year. The twenty year old played last season with the Avalanche and he should take a big step forward this year. He already has the same amount of points in two games this season as he did last season in 19 games played. Look for Bowen Byram to take that big step forward and to show us how great of a defenseman he can be fantasy wise.

Brenden Dillon (Winnipeg Jets) Defenseman

This move right here is an absolute no brainer to me. The Winnipeg Jets are going to score at will this season and Dillion is a guy you should roster. He won’t wow you with the amount of points he puts up. Dillon is a shot blocker and in leagues that you get points for that he is a must add based off that alone. He has blocked five shots in two games this year already. That is a pretty solid start in my opinion. He also has an assist as well on the year. Dillon is currently only owned in 13.8 percent in leagues on ESPN. He should be a guy that you add as his role should increase with the Jets.

Adin Hill (San Jose Sharks) Goaltender

Adin Hill is going to be the starter for the San Jose Sharks this year. He played well last year in Arizona and I expect more of the same in San Jose this year. Adin Hill is only rostered in 42.5 percent of leagues at the moment. With a full year of a starting workload, I think Hill will flourish into a solid goaltending option. I have him as my third goaltender on my current team and I think it is a fantastic move by me. Having Hill who flourished last season in Arizona is a must do for all fantasy hockey owners. If this goaltender is available in your league go add him onto your roster right now.
