Fantasy Football: Wide-Receiver Waiver Pickups!
It seems like every season, there is always a wide-receiver that is a sneaky good waiver pickup in Fantasy leagues. If you are participating in any Fantasy football leagues this year, expect no different. In fact, I am here to share with you some potential wide-receiver waiver pickups. If any of these names become available, they are ones you should pickup immediately!
Let’s take a look at 5 potential fantasy waiver pickups in this 21/22 football season.
#1: Elijah Moore – New York Jets.

It’s shocking to hear that the Jets did a good job at something, but you know what, they did!
In this years’ draft, the Jets were by far one of the absolute winners of it. In the second round of the draft, the Jets picked up Elijah Moore and personally, I think he is the steal of this years’ draft. So far through training camp, Elijah Moore has been impressive! The rookie has been making impressive plays and showing a great work ethic as he develops a relationship with Jets QB, Zach Wilson.
Elijah at Ole Miss was also a very good receiver with having caught 1,193 yards, scored 8 TD’s in just 8 games. If you are looking to maximize in the fantasy waiver pickups area of your league, this is the guy to look for! His speed, agility and explosiveness will be an absolute weapon for a sneaky good Jets offense this year.
#2: Kadarius Toney – New York Giants.
The Giants with the 20th pick of the first round selected, Kadarius Toney!
The 22-year old from the University of Florida is one that I think will be quite a production powerhouse for the Giants. If you look at the Giants offensive line, you would probably assume that majority of the work load will be between Kenny Golladay, Evan Ingram, and Sterling Shepard. While that sounds about right, and most defenses will be working towards shutting down those options for QB Daniel Jones in the field, Toney is one to keep an eye out for.
Kadarius in his last year with Florida left his mark while continuing to improve his performance. Who is to say that he won’t be the dark horse deep in the field making the plays needed for Daniel Jones? Personally, If he becomes available in the waiver list, he is one I see myself picking up.
#3: Chase Claypool – Pittsburgh Steelers.
I know, shocking name to see here on this list.
Here’s why I think he could be the forgotten receiver. In this years’ draft, the Steelers also made some bold picks. Having added to this roster rookies like Najee Harris (RB) and Pat Freiermuth at Tight-End.
When you look at the Steelers roster, the addition of Freiermuth makes so much sense as this team desperately needed someone like him. Now as they gear up for the season, that offensive line has enough to offer and names like Juju Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson could be the leading production factor for this team. Therefore, as highly as I think of Chase, I think he could be a forgotten talent in Pittsburgh and one that Fantasy League teams may forget to draft.
#4: Randall Cobb – Green Bay Packers.
Now that Green Bay resolved the dramatic Soap-Opera regarding Aaron Rodgers, here is a name that I think will also slide by and get forgotten.
I can’t blame anyone for potentially forgetting him especially when you look at names like Davante Adams, Devin Funchess and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in this Green Bay offense. Also, there is Allen Lazard who is also a huge producer when healthy! I don’t need to say much about Cobb given that Aaron and him have worked in the past, and they are excellent together!
If by any chances this guy is available in your leagues’ waiver wire, pick him up!
#5: Nelson Agholor – New England Patriots.

Unfortunately, Agholor will be overlooked and probably because of the many receivers that will likely go ahead of him.
Really though, think of the names like Odell, Tyreek Hill, DeAndre Hopkins, Mike Evans. A lot of names that will easily get drafted ahead of him and rightfully so. However, this is a guy that if he is available in the late rounds, you should grab for a potential FLEX option. If he does escape undrafted in your league and you aren’t happy with a certain choice, he is a great immediate replacement in your roster.
So far with the Patriots this offseason, Agholor has been outstanding! He is a great target for Cam Newton and Mac Jones. Additionally, his speed and agility make him a huge threat for a New England offense that has gotten some major upgrades this offseason.
He was a productive for the Raiders last year and he will be for the Pats this year as well. Therefore, a must get in fantasy waiver pickups!
