Fantasy Football Preview: Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens
It’s a divisional battle in week seven! The Cincinnati Bengals are in Baltimore to take on the Ravens. Currently, the Ravens have the best record in the AFC at 5-1. The Bengals are surprisingly not too far behind them sitting at 4-2. A lot is at stake in this week’s matchup. Now, let’s dive into this fantasy football preview: Cincinnati Bengals vs Baltimore Ravens.
Must play:
Ja’Marr Chase
What a season it has been so far for this rookie receiver. After a dreadful preseason Ja’Marr Chase has come into his own and is developing each week into becoming a top receiver. Obviously it’s still early in his career, but if he keeps this up, Chase will be a top receiver in no time. As for this week, this will be his toughest test yet. But, so far Chase has found ways to jump over all obstacles thrown at him. Expect the LSU connection to have another dominating week even against the AFC’s best team.
Prediction: 8 catches, 90 receiving yards, 1 touchdown
Hollywood Brown
Hollywood Brown is currently the top receiver in yards and touchdowns for the Ravens. With defenses mainly concerned about tight end Mark Andrews, Brown finds ways to get open downfield. Brown is a deep threat as well and one he is in the open field, he’s uncatchable. Currently he sits at 32 receptions for 486 yards and five touchdowns. When Lamar isn’t running the ball himself, expect Brown to be on the receiving end of long throws. The Bengals defense will have their hands full with this offensive attack from Baltimore.
Prediction: 6 catches, 120 yards, 1 touchdown
Also start:
Joe Mixon
Give some love to Joe Mixon this weekend. Screen passes are Mixon’s best friend and Joe Burrow should look to Mixon on second and short situations. Plus, on average the Ravens defense gives up one touchdown per game to opposing running backs. With this young offense still developing, there’s a strong chance Mixon see’s the ball often this weekend.
Prediction: 20 carries, 100 yards, 1 touchdown
Mark Andrews
It’s national tight ends day this weekend and Mark Andrews is more than excited for this great holiday. Andrews has had the hot hands the last two games and it is expected of him to continue that streak against the Bengals who struggle against tight ends. Expect Mark Andrews to be open constantly.
Prediction: 10 catches, 160 yards, 2 touchdowns
Toss up:
Tee Higgins
Tee Higgins is this matchup’s toss up. Higgins is one of the three wide receivers Joe Burrow can throw to, plus tight end C.J. Uzomah. There’s always one receiver that gets the short end of the stick. Plus, Higgins is still playing catchup from the games he missed. There’s a strong chance Higgins might have one of his worst career games against the Ravens defense who has been great so far this year shutting down wide receivers.
Prediction: 4 catches, 55 yards
Avoid:
Bengals defense/special teams
Fantasy owners would be wise to play the Bengals defense against Lamar Jackson. The Bengals defense has surrendered almost 1,000 yards against Jackson alone and nearly 10 touchdowns. In short, the Bengals defense struggles against the dual threat quarterback. It wouldn’t make sense having the Cincinnati defense in the starting lineup this weekend.
