Early Impressions of the Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics begin the year with a 3-3 record after recently falling short to the Detroit Pistons in last night’s contest. Jayson Tatum is currently averaging 24.3 points per game, while Jaylen Brown is averaging 27.5 points per game.
The Celtics have had early contributions from Veteran Point Guard, Jeff Teague and Veteran Center, Tristan Thompson. However, that is what is expected when it comes to players who have been in the league for a long period of a time. The eye opener player that has caught Celtic fans attention, is Rookie Guard, Payton Pritchard. He might not be putting up big numbers but he is doing the little things, making hustle plays, and being in the game during crunch time situations.
Despite winning the first game of the season off a Jayson Tatum buzzer beater win, the team has had trouble closing out games. Started in Indiana when Tatum took, what I believe, a terrible three pointer at the end of the game, having the team fall short. Then, just recently, the team had not one but two chances to win the game against the Detroit Pistons. However, the two shots were great plays drawn up by Coach Brad Stevens, giving them the best chance to win the game.
The Celtics had the chance to start the season 5-1, putting them in the 1st seed in the Eastern Conference. If the Celtics want to make a statement in this league, they need to close out games. However, it only has been 6 games but it’s still good to get the first taste of what this team is made of. If the team can close out games in the future, this team can be very dangerous.
