Dustin Pedroia With ANOTHER Setback In His Left Knee
Dustin Pedroia has been involved in a lot of great moments with the Red Sox. He’s known as the scrappy underdog who just lives, breathes, and eats baseball. The Red Sox second baseman has been trying to get back on the diamond for several years now. However, he’s had another setback with his left knee.
Breaking news: #RedSox 2B Dustin Pedroia has suffered what sources say was a significant setback with his left knee.
His availability for at least spring training is questionable. Pedroia is discussing his options with his family, agents, and the Sox.

What This Means For The Red Sox
The Red Sox have a rotating door at second base. There are a few options like Michael Chavis, Jose Peraza and others that can fill the spot temporarily. But, having Pedroia back at 2nd base would have helped make a good infield even better. Imagine Pedroia turning double plays consistently with Xander Bogaerts? WOW, would that be fun!
Pedroia Should Retire

Pedroia should honestly call it quits. He has nothing left to prove. The man has won multiple World Series rings. He’s been an MVP. The best part of all? He can join the Red Sox in a different role and still be around baseball. What more could he ask for? Dustin just doesn’t have it in him physically to perform anymore. Call it a career and go on with the next phase of your life!
In Conclusion
If this is it for Pedroia, what a run it was for him.
Dustin Pedroia's career
14 seasons
A .299 average
1,805 hits
A Rookie of the Year Award
An MVP Award
4 All-Star appearances
4 Gold Glove Awards
3 championship rings
If this is it: His career does not end on his terms, after that ugly slide into his knee. But he did what he loved.— Buster Olney (@Buster_ESPN) January 21, 2020
He was my favorite player for awhile, as well as many other fans of Red Sox nation. The man needs his knee for the rest of his life. So, nobody would blame him if he decided to give up the fight to come back. This just adds to the many storylines surrounding the 2020 Boston Red Sox. And of course, it’s a tough pill to swallow to add to the other incidents that have occurred over the past few months.
