Dre Greenlaw Making Stops On And Off The Field
In a wild game last night that decided the NFC West title, the San Francisco 49ers went into Seattle and defeated the Seahawks by a final score of 26-21. The Hawks made a valiant effort to comeback, outscoring the 49ers 21-13 in the second half, but they came up inches short; literally.
That’s how you become legendary, @DreGreenlaw.

There is frustration on Seattle’s side due to how the game ended, but I am not here to talk about that. I’m here to talk about San Fransisco’s rookie linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
Greenlaw, drafted out of Arkansas with the tenth pick in the fifth round, has been a pleasant surprise this season. The linebacker has helped fill the hole left by Kwon Alexander’s injury by posting a 63.9 Pro Football Focus grade. No, that isn’t top of the line play, but for a rookie fifth-round pick you take that every day of the week. That’s especially true if that play is going to help secure the number one seed in the NFC for your team.
I could ramble on about Greenlaw’s play, but what I really wanted to bring up is a story that came out during the pre-draft process.
Dre Greenlaw was drafted in the 5th round by the SF 49ers. I want to tell you a little story about him.

In this thread of Tweets by Gerry Dales, he tells the story of how Greenlaw helped out his daughter at a party after some college scumbag slipped something into her drink.
I wanted to post this blog to remind people of how good people can be. Most of the time if you see a NFL players name in the news, it pertains to them being arrested (like Xavien Howard last night). But Greenlaw reminds us that not all NFL players are bad. A lot participate in charity work and help out their respective communities in various ways. So here is my shoutout to Greenlaw, who deserved to make that game saving play.
