David Andrews is BACK in New England!

This has been such a fun time to be a Patriots fan. They’re actually making moves! Granted, it makes sense because coming into free agency, the Patriots had the 4th highest amount of cap space. I mean, look at all the signings! Hunter Henry. Jonnu Smith. Matthew Judon. The list goes on and on. And now? The Patriots get an important piece of their offensive line back.

It was reported late last night that center David Andrews is resigning with the Patriots on a four year deal.

The Patriots and C David Andrews are finalizing a deal for him to return to New England, per sources.

Andrews is a longtime team captain and is one of the most respected players on the entire roster.

So with that in said, I have a few thoughts.

This is GREAT for the Offensive Line

The offensive line is going to be absurdly good next year! With the return of Andrews, it solidifies an offensive line that has been playing together for a bit now. But at this point, your line can look a little something like this (in no particular order): Trent Brown, Michael Onwenu, Isaiah Wynn, David Andrews, Shaq Mason, with Ted Karras coming off the bench. That’s a solid six right there!

Andrews is a Patriot Through and Through

David Andrews embodies what it means to be a New England Patriot. He’s tough. The man works as hard as anyone. The best part of all? He loves being a part of the Patriots and considers New England his home. If he really hated the Patriots, he would’ve signed the first deal out of here. But guess what? He’s back!

In Conclusion

I’m happy this deal got done. David Andrews solidifies the line as well as ever. He wants to be here. Now? He can help the Patriots turn things around in 2021. This offensive line is going to be so much fun to watch, especially in the run game. The passing game? Should give Cam Newton a lot more time now. Forget about the off-season. Let’s get to training camp already!
