What the hell is in the water out in Houston?
This is seriously the worst trade offer I’ve ever seen. FOUR first-round picks, Marquese Chris, and Brandon Knight for a guy who’s going to be a free agent in nine months? No thanks!
Outside of LeBron and KD, I don’t think there’s a single player in this league I would trade that much for. Especially when it’s Jimmy Butler, who is about to hit the open market. I don’t care if he’s from Houston either, because that hometown narrative has proven to be very overrated. Just look at KD and Paul George. I seriously can’t comprehend why the Rockets would make this deal.
And do they really think that Jimmy Butler is the answer to all of their problems right now? Because I sure don’t. Sure, he’s a great player, but he’s not moving the needle. When your two most talented players are your Achilles heel, you have other shit to figure out. Chris Paul is an awful teammate (allegedly)/injury prone, and their “MVP” only shows up during the regular season. I don’t care who they pair them up with, the Houston Rockets will never get to an NBA Finals with James Harden and Chris Paul on their roster.
